The Saarinen Tulip Table is recognized as one of the most famous pieces in the Saarinen Pedestal Series. Created in 1957, the Saarinen Table envelopes the thought and theory behind one of the 20th century's great architects. Constructed of cast aluminum, the table flows from top to bottom and from side to side in a fluid exchange of lines. The tulip table shown here is a favorite as it can be used in a variety of spaces, but is most commonly used as a coffee table.

Perhaps Eero Saarinen’s best-known collection of furniture is the Pedestal Series.  In this drive to do away with the “slum of legs”, Saarinen designed a series of chairs, stools, and tables on a tulip base.  In the tulip table design, Saarinen used only cast aluminum and a bolt to secure a wood or stone top.  It was a very pure form of design that is still extremely popular today.  

The Saarinen Table uses a lacquered cast aluminum base in white, black, or silver. The Saarinen Table base is treated with a clear protective finish to resist scratches, stains, and scuffs.
