All 6 petals, like a Japanese iris, are falls. Surprisingly flatties trace all the way back to Bertrand Farr in 1920. It’s believed that we have only introduced one flattie previous to this year (Fluffy Pillows, 2008) unless you count the ones run over by the tractor. Our Downstream is a refined light blue purple, oozing to white in the centers. Lavender-white style arms conspicuously stand alone in the center. Blessed with a charming fragrance, it’s 36” high with 7 buds on a stem. Flatties are gaining a growing following because they are different and their color range can only expand. Downstream grows well, is tinted and is a late bloomer.
